Finance solutions for energy efficiency at the municipal level (Webinar) - 05.07.2018


This webinar offers an overview and help navigate in various funding sources for energy efficiency upgrades in the public infrastructure at the municipal level. The first part of the webinar covers the EU funding programmes, institutions and available technical assistance as well as potential national public sources. The second part focuses on the specific programme – the City Finance Lab - Europe’s first dedicated platform to help develop innovative finance solutions for green urban projects. The City Finance Lab is launching a call for proposals targeted at EU cities and developers who need technical support to achieve their climate ambitions.


Short Bio:
Ksenia Petrichenko is a Senior Advisor at the Copenhagen Centre on Energy Efficiency (C2E2). Ksenia provides analytical support to Sustainable Energy for All (SE4ALL) initiative through: research on energy efficiency and renewable best-practices, provision of technical support to targeted countries, analysis of technological pathways till 2030 and collaboration with various organisations on accelerating energy efficiency actions with a particular focus on Building Efficiency Accelerator. Prior to joining C2E2 Ksenia worked in different expert roles with Global Performance Network (GBPN), Central European University and Eco Ltd. on international projects mainly focused on energy efficiency potential and policies in the building sector. She has a PhD degree in Environmental Sciences from Central European University, as well as MSc in Environmental Sciences and MA in Economics in the Energy Sector.
Short Bio:
Irina Stamo holds a Bachelor´s degree in Economics and expanded her knowledge by receiving her Master´s degree in Political Economy of European Integration. She is currently working on projects dealing with energy efficiency, sector coupling, climate finance and urban renewal. Before joining IKEM, Ms. Stamo has gained experience amongst others at the German Energy Agency, German Solar Association and Arepo Consult. Irina has been involved in different projects and scientific activities, dealing with energy efficiency, European energy policy drafts, LNG, energy storage. She has done extensive scientific research dealing with the Nordic energy market, which Irina intensified in her PhD thesis.
Short Bio:
Victor Gancel is managing the Low Carbon City Lab (LoCaL), a Climate-KIC flagship programme aiming at unlocking climate finance for cities. LoCaL provides local authorities with training, project preparation, investment and impact assessment tools and services. Prior to working for the Climate-KIC, Victor worked in innovative services development in the Aerospace industry and community forestry in Africa. He holds a MSc in Finance.
