Create an account

Anonymous

As an anonymous user (nor logged in) you can access all Knowledge Objects of the C2E2 Knowledge Management System (KMS). Just typing in your search query and start exploring the system. 

Basic account

Registered users have even more possibilities, they can

  • comment, rate and annotate knowledge objetcs
  • create own collections of knowledge objects and present them to the public
  • even propose own knowledge objects to be listed in the system
  • tell about their projects and work in user generated iniatives.

To get an own account in the KMS please click on sign in in the top right corner of the KMS website. In clicking on create new account in the pop up, you'll redirected to a registration dialogue. In filling this field with your coordinates, you ensure, that you are represented well on C2E2 KMS. Do nor forget to upload a picture of yours. All mandatory fields are marked with an *

Expert account

The C2E2 Energy Efficiency Expert database lists registered experts on Energy Efficiency who have agreed to be publically available. These experts could potentially be engaged to provide assistance with Energy Efficiency activities. You may apply to be listed in this database in completing an additional form answering some questions which prove your expert status. This form can be activated by pressing  at the footer of each page.

Dashboard

For a better overview of your interactions with the C2E2 Knowledge Management System you can access your personal dashboard by clicking my dashboard in the top right corner. You have to be logged in for access to the dashboard. Here yo may find all those recently added or edited contents by yourself, the bookmarks and also the status of your contents regarding a possible review process. Learn how to add comments, ratings, bookmarks and others in the following help sections. The dashboard is the page where you always may return, to get the full picture at once.

What is a Knowledge Object?

The C2E2 KMS deals with several Knowledge Objects (like Reports, Websites, Experts Profiles, ...) which will be stored and made available in structured form together with a metadata footprint. Users can search, browse, filter and sort through the catalogue of these Knowledge Objects 

Types

Publication / Report
Publications, reports and similar resources from C2E2 and partners. You may download the publication direct from the C2E2 KMS or follow a link to the original source.
Experts
The C2E2 Energy efficiency expert database lists registered experts on Energy Efficiency who have agreed to be publically available. These experts could potentially be engaged to provide assistance with Energy Efficiency activities.
Experts
will provide information to the stakeholders on Energy Efficiency tools / instruments developed/provided by C2E2 and its SE4All partners. (e.g. http://www.gbpn.org/). The section will also provide information/links to other relevant Energy Efficiency tools / instruments.
Experts
This is a directory of relevant online resources for the Energy Efficiency Sector, including Energy Efficiency websites, online databases which hosts Energy Efficiency data the C2E2 Accelerators.
Experts
Find here related informations about finance instruments, which provide funds from public or private sources.
Experts
Users may describe own projects and activities (e.g. best practise descriptions) in providing an own Knowledge Object called user initative. Or they input regular Knowledge Objects like own reports, websites, tools ... . Both can be found in this sector.

Navigate and browse the Knowledge Management System

Search

The C2E2 KMS is a collection of quality poven Knowledge Objects. You may search and find Energy Efficency related content easily in using our search interface. The big advantage to any other general interest search engine, is that you'll get only quality content, without any off-target results. This saves your time.

simple search

Simply drop your search into the  on the Homepage of our system. You can rely on the auto complete function, which looks for keyword we have in our catalogue or typing any search term you want. Both ways lead you to a full result list, which than can be further filtered and sorted, to drill down your search to exact those contents your are looking for.

Or start an advanced search and see what's in for a specific search for all Knowledge Objects or each of them seperatly in clicking through PUBLICATIONS, EXPERTS, TOOLS & INSTRUMENTS, RESOURCES,FUNDING and USER CONTENT.

Three special collections  are prepared to give you a quick overview of what's in for you in the C2E2 KMS.

Filters

User can filter by sector, region and temporal focus. Aviability of this filter depend on the sort of Knowledge Object you are browsing. E.g.: There is a temporal filter for a search in publications, which is not the fact for a search in experts. All filters can be resetted in clicking  .

Filter by Sector

All Knowledge Objects in the KMS are annotated with an controlled vocabulary using the  You ca find a list of this tags on the button of each Knowledge Object. The KMS bundles this tags into 10 Sectors. Filtering the results by sector, means that the results list is limited to Knowledge Objects annotated with tags which the ticked sector(s) include.

Filter by Region

Same for filtering with an georaphical focus. Filter by Region let you limit your results list by selecting continents (drilled down to every single country), items with global focus and also those which have no geographical focus. Ticking the checkbox next to the continent () open up the country dropdown with all countries selected. Ticking the symbol () open up the country dropdown with all countries de-selected. You may toggle the ticking boxes to get your specific regional selection.

Publishing year

For publications you may also filter results by a given time span.

Funding Amount

For funding possibilities you may also filter results by a given minimal and maximal funding amount.

Sort

Ahead of the results list you may use the sorting mechanism to get the results more structured. By default the newest Knowledge Objects are on top of the llst. You may change this to alphabetic order or to a list ordered by user ratings.

RSS

A special feature is available for each advanced search. You can get an up-to-date stream of Knowledge Objects meeting a specific search together with a specific filter setting as an RSS feed (Real Simple Syndication) by clicking on .

Comment, rate, tag and collect Knowledge Objects

Comment, rate and bookmark

Registered users may comment any Knowledge Object or rate them. Please note, that comments needs approval by the editorial team of C2E2 KMS. For a convenient use of the KMS we provide an bookmarking feature to find your bookmarked Knowledge Objects later on in your personel dashboard. Find these function in the widget right to the description on each detail page. 

Suggesting tags

Content in KMS ist tagged automatically by the climatetagger system. As you are a human expert, you may have suggestions to improve this tagging. In case you click SUGGEST TAG ADAPTIONS next to the tagging cloud on the foot of every Knowledge Object.

Make Collections of Knowledge Objects

Registered users may make collections of several Knowledge Objects. Collections have a title and description given by the respective user. So the user can compile knowledge objects for several purposes. Start a new collection with the first Knowledge Object, which should be listed in your collection later on, in clicking on add to collection(s) in your right hand interaction widget. The pop-up window give now the possibility to

The C2E2 KMS deals with several Knowledge Objects (like Reports, Websites, Experts Profiles, ...) which will be stored and made available in structured form together with a metadata footprint. Registered users may create such Knowledge Objects for further public use. Such user generated contents run through a review process carried out by C2E2, to ensure quality and confomity with legal requirements.

Creation of user generated Knowledge Objects start in the personal dashboard by clicking my dashboard in the top right corner. Find a list of all Knowledge Objects created by you under the tab MY CONTENT. New Knowledge objects may be added by  ... followed by providing the contents (mandatory fields are marked with *)

  • Files must be less than 10 MB.
  • Allowed file types: png gif jpg jpeg.
  • Images must be smaller than 1000x1000 pixels.
  • In case you upload a PDF as a resource (for publications) Image will be auto-generated from PDF-Cover.
Resource type* This describes if the resource is either a document (txt, pdf, xls, xlsx, doc, docx) or a hyper-link ton an online source Once choosen the type, you may upload a file or provide the hyper-link.

Assisted categorisation

Categorisation of Knowledge Objects is assisted by climatetagger - it helps to destill categories out of your content description and uploaded content. With FETCH SECTORS, climate tagger search for possible categories. The better your content is described, the better are the results. Check the results and complete them in simply selecting and de-selecting the checkboxes next to the 10 sectors. In case climatetagger do nor deliver any result, you may expand your descriptice text in the field above, or tick the sectors manualy.

Assisted regions analysis

As for the categorisation, the system also provides automated proposials for regions by clicking on FETCH REGIONSSelection may now be fine-tuned by continent or country.

Assisted tagging

Tagging of Knowledge Objects is also assisted by climatetagger. With GET TAGS, climate tagger search for possible tags. Check the results and complete them in simply selecting and de-selecting the checkboxes in Tags extracted from and Your selected tags. Add - in case - own additional free tag under the section Add tags manually.

Send for approval

PREVIEW and/or SAVE conlude the creation of your own Knowledge Object. Find now your Knowledge Object at your my dashboard indicated for review . C2E2 is now checking your content for quality and legal compatibility. Check your emails to get informations about the status of the review. Finally your content is published, which is indicated by  at your my dashboard.
 
 

Change Knowledge Object

Feel free to change and update your Knowledge Object as long as they are in review. Once published, your Knowledge Objects could not be edited again. Please contact C2E2 if you want to apply changes then.

Create user Initiatives

Users may describe own projects and activities (e.g. best practise descriptions) in providing an own Knowledge Object called User Initiative. Start in the personal dashboard by clicking my dashboard in the top right corner and find a list of all your initatives created by you under the tab MY INITIATIVES. New initatives may be added by . Content provision works analogue to the creation of Own Knowledge Objects.

Become an Expert

The Energy Efficiency Expert database lists registered experts who could be potentially be engaged to provide assistance on Energy Efficiency activities. You may apply to be listed in this database by completing an additional form and supplying your CV. This form can be activated by pressing  at the footer of each page. Scroll down the personal settings form and click .

Please provide your duration of professional experience in the sector, together with two references. Please complete your application by ticking those sectors where you are an expert.

You'll get a verification email once your application is uploaded on the database.
