Riasat is an energy policy expert with experience in a wide spare of industry verticals and expertise in quantitative and qualitative analysis. He heads national and international power & energy projects, with work in the energy value chain, sustainability reporting and investment in the energy sector of South and Southeast Asia. Currently, he is developing a ‘Power Sector Investability Index’ for the Government of Bangladesh and potential investors to provide a guidance mechanism on enabling policy and regulatory framework. He is a core author of the policy paper on ASEAN Energy Policy Mapping, currently being developed by the Energy Studies Institute of National University of Singapore (NUS) where he provides strategic consultation on energy policy mapping, investment prioritization, and country gap identification. Riasat also specializes in multi-country market research and speaks widely on energy security & carbon pricing, as well as writes on innovation, digitization, and business intelligence.
A seasoned copy editor, Riasat has authored several peer-reviewed journals and publications on energy connectivity and appeared in flagship platforms such as MIT Climate, UNIDO, The Economist Intelligence Unit, Wall Street Journal, GSCASS, Eurasian Forum (YES-Forum) and APEC Energy Working Group.
Riasat is a Scholar of the Economist-GMAT Tutor Program. He has a BTEC Level 5 HND in Business Administration (Pearson, UK) and an MBA from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka. Before joining IPAG, he has worked with ILO and Nielsen Bangladesh.
