Vesselina Haralampieva

Principal Counsel

Vesselina Haralampieva is Principal Counsel in the EBRD’s Office of the General Counsel (OGC) in London, UK. Vesselina is the sustainable energy and resources law specialist in the Legal Transition Team of EBRD in charge of leading technical assistance projects focused on promoting green energy and sustainable development in a number of EBRD countries of operations through a mix of policy, legal and regulatory instruments. She has led the work assisting the Government of Georgia to develop the first National Energy Efficiency Action Plan (NEEAP) in Georgia, jointly with her colleague Remon Zakaria, and will continue supporting the Government with the development of the primary legal framework for energy efficiency. Prior to joining the EBRD, Vesselina worked on policy-related international projects at Harvard University’s Berkman Center and at the Centre for the Study of Democracy, a prominent Bulgarian think tank. In addition, she worked at the World Intellectual Property Organization and trained as a lawyer at a leading Bulgarian law firm. Vesselina is admitted to practice in England & Wales and Bulgaria, and holds degrees from Harvard Law School (LLM) and Sofia University (Masters of Law, summa cum laude).
